Lifetime Romance

Lifetime Romance was knocked down to Charlie Gordon-Watson for 110,000 guineas. She is a beautiful bay mare, with a great outlook, and an athletic walk, and, when acquired, she was in foal for the first time, to Dalakhani. Born in 2003, she only ran twice, winning a 26 runner maiden on debut at The Curragh, after which her trainer, John Oxx, nominated her as his Guineas filly. She reappeared in the Derrinstown Guineas Trial, failed to show and never ran again.

She comes from an interesting family, with her second dam being the incomparable race mare, Ridgewood Pearl. Ridgewood Pearl won four Group Ones, including wins at Royal Ascot, and the Breeders Cup Mile - she was Champion miler in 1995. To date, she has not achieved the same success at stud - that said, she has produced three winners from three runners, one of which is Josh's Pearl, Lifetime Romance's mother. John Oxx commented that Josh's Pearl's "ability does not match her lineage", but that did not stop him running her in the Group Three Blandford Stakes. To date, she has had four offspring to have raced - Lifetime Romance, Joshua's Princess, the prolific winner Hanoverian Baron and Cluain Alainn. All four have won, but none have secured black type.

Lifetime Romance produced a filly by Dalakhani March in 2008. She was sold at Tattersalls Book One in October 2009. She has a yearling colt by Medicean, a colt foal by Nayef, and is back in foal to Medicean.

Lifetime Romance was sold at Tattersalls to Broughton Bloodstock for 20,000 guineas in November 2010 as part of the Breeding Capital dispersal.
