Musicanna

We bought Musicanna for 320,000 guineas, in partnership with The Watership Down Stud. She is a good and improving racemare, has an interesting pedigree, is physically very correct and will have gorgeous foals.

Musicanna is a winner of four races, including a Listed race, and is twice Group One placed - she is rated 114. She possesses a lot of natural speed.

She comes from a good family - her mother, Upend, won both a Group race and a Listed race, and won four and placed three times from only eight starts. As a broodmare, she has bred eight winners. She is by Cape Cross, the sire of Ouija Board, who is an excellent stallion.

Upend is also the granddam of the fabulous sprinter, Overdose. Overdose is unbeaten in all his starts, and is known as the "Budapest Bullet".

Musicanna is a beautiful mare, and a good breeder. Her first foal, by Pivotal, was a bay colt, and was sold for 140,000 guineas at Tattersalls Book One in 2009.

Her second foal is now a yearling, and is a filly by Monsun. She has a filly foal by Dalakhani, and is back in foal to Pivotal.

Musicanna was sold at Tattersalls to Kern/Lillingston Association for 85,000 guineas in November 2010 as part of the Breeding Capital dispersal.
