Asset History

Quiet Oasis is the first horse to actually run for Breeding Capital PLC, albeit under the colours and name of the Sangster family.

A very minor xray issue precluded us sending her to the Tattersalls Book One sales, as we felt her value might be impaired. She is beautifully bred, being by Oasis Dream out of a Sunday Silence mare, and she is a full sister to Young Pretender. Young Pretender won a Group race as a two year old for John Gosden, before joining Godolphin. As a three year old, he was third in the Diomed Stakes, before injury interrupted his career. July 2010

Quiet Oasis has now run three times.

On her first start, she finished a good third in a hot looking Maiden at Newmarket, beaten one and threequarter lengths behind Morning Charm, after an unfavourable draw.

The filly returned to Newmarket three weeks later. She was odds on favourite, but spread a plate and was withdrawn at the start - most frustrating!

A week later, at Kempton in early September, she ran in the Amdocs Conditions race over seven furlongs. Starting odds on, after attracting significant support in the ring, the filly ran well, making all to win a shade comfortably. Click here to see the video.

In late September, Quiet Oasis ran in the Group Three C L Weld Park Stakes at The Curragh on Irish St Leger day. Drawn on the inside of an eleven runner field, on soft to yielding ground, the Brian Meehan trained filly ran a blinder to finish fourth, beaten by less than one and a half lengths by the winner, Chrysanthemum, who is 14-2 second favourite for next year's Oaks.

Quiet Oasis was sold privately to Paul Reddam in October 2010. She is due to run in the Breeders Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs on 6th November 2010.
