Asset History

We purchased Silent Heir privately from Carl Holt, an Australian. Silent Heir was bred and raised in Australia, and was exported to the UK in 2003, where she entered training with Jeremy Noseda as a four year old, Northern hemisphere time. She was in fact only just three when she turned four on 1st January 2003. As a racehorse, Silent Heir ran three times, winning a Maiden over 10 furlongs at Redcar before finishing unplaced in her next two starts.

Silent Heir has a good pedigree. Her second dam is the fabulous racemare, Park Expresss, who was a high class filly as both a two year old and three year old. Her exploits as a racehorse have been surpassed by her excellence as a producer, being the dam of Shinko Forest, a successful sire, and now New Approach, the 2008 Derby winner. Her first dam, Park Heiress, is the dam of five winners from six runners, one of which was Silent Heir. Her sire, Sunday Silence, was a formidable performer in the USA. He won the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Breeders Cup Classic before being exiled to Japan. In Japan he became an extremely successful sire before dying aged 16 in 2003. Silent Heir's line of Sunday Silence/SadlersWells/Ahoonara is extremely attractive, and Sunday Silence is a good outcross.

Silent Heir looks like being a good producer. Her first foal is Young Pretender, a colt by Oasis Dream who was a Group winner. Her second foal, a filly by Slickly, never ran, and is now a broodmare in Australia, whilst her third foal is Rumool. By Exceed and Excel, he is a winning two year old, in training with Clive Brittain.

Silent Heir has a two year old filly by Oasis Dream, called Quiet Oasis, who is in training with Brian Meehan, and a Danehill Dancer yearling.

Breeding Capital owns 50% of Silent Heir, the balance being owned by a trusted partner.

Silent Heir was sold at Tattersalls to Tim Stakemire for 320,000 guineas in November 2010 as part of the Breeding Capital dispersal.
