Asset History

By purchasing Sanwa, we were buying into one of the finest families in the German stud book. German horses have been good to Breeding Capital, and we hope that the purchase of first time broodmare Sanwa will be as rewarding financially as Breeding Capital PLC's investment in Madura.

Sanwa is an unraced four year old, by Monsun, and is a full sister to Schiaparelli, Samum and Salve Regina, who won seven Group One races between them. Schiaparelli was second in the Group Two Prix Foy, Samum was the champion three year old in Germany, and Salve Regina was the top rated filly in Germany.

Sanwa is a neat individual and is an almost exact replica of her mother, the great Sacarina, who was also unraced.

Sanwa foaled a filly by Dansili in 2009, and a Teofilo colt in 2010. She visited Sea The Stars earlier this year.

Sanwa cost 400,000 guineas, with Baron von Ullman, the owner of Monsun, the underbidder.

Sanwa was sold privately in December 2010.
